Al empezar un nuevo siglo, y un nuevo milenio, es conveniente que los cristianos le demos una mirada al futuro que nos espera, que pasemos revista a las nuevas interrogantes que se empiezan a vislumbrar en el mundo, así como a los retos que tales señales pueden suponer para el cristianismo. Durante las dos últimas décadas ha tenido lugar en nuestro planeta toda una serie de acontecimientos que han contribuido a cambiar las relaciones humanas y a crear un nuevo tipo de sociedad a escala global. ¿Cuál debe ser la actitud cristiana frente al actual proceso de globalización? ¿Cómo tiene que comportarse el cristiano con el extranjero según la Palabra de Dios?¿Seremos capaces durante este tercer milenio de no destruirnos mediante la energía nuclear o la guerra bacteriológica? ¿Cómo se configura la nueva familia globalizada? ¿Cómo es posible incultural hoy el mensaje cristiano en medio de una sociedad tan variada y plural?

At the beginning of a new century and a new millennium, it is good that all Christians take a look at the future that awaits us, questions that we have about the world, as well as the challenges of this troubled time. Through the last two decades there have been changes that contributed to different relationships and created a new global society. What should the Christian attitude be towards the process of globalization? How should the Christian behave toward foreigners according to the Word of God? Will we be able to avoid destroying ourselves with nuclear weapons or biochemical warfare during the third millennium? How is the new global family structured? How can we instill the Christian message in today's world, despite living in a changing and pluralistic society?
